Would love to and thanks for the invitation. Your picture reminded of a place I used to go do some business reading when I worked downtown. It is so peaceful. I had several of these hideways around downtown where I would escape the phone and emails to get caught up on issues. These are little treasures that cities should have and do more of.

Raye, I love the way you captured the architecture and fauna of that one downtown park (or hideaway). Thanks for sharing, BTG

You and the Mrs. should come now….no rain, lots of sunshine and clear skies. Portland has now exploded with colour….soon to be gone when the rain comes…but not for another week Weatherman says! Thank you always for your thoughts….

PS: Your fall pics reminded me to talk a walk to capture some colors of the season .. thanks … and I’ll be posting it this week … maybe the next one!

We’ve had unseasonably sunny weather…clear blue skies with not a drop of rain in sight. For another week, WeatherMan says. The Keller Fountain is one of Portland’s finest pieces of ART. My pleasure, FrankA, to share. Looking forward to seeing a bit of your own reflective colour…

No rain in sight is good going into your wet season. … Aren’t city center fountains wonderful? Here’s our lady on Fountain Square … http://tinyurl.com/pko2dfy

Your Lady is absolutely beautiful! Read Wiki information and had to smile at the shared space the plaza enjoys: concerts, movies, etc. The Keller Auditorium is home to the Portland Opera Company, and faces the Fountain. The opening season of the opera is “broadcast” on a huge screen outside the building…facing the fountain. The fountain, turned off, becomes multi-layered seating for 3-5 thousand Portlanders who bring blankets, chairs, wine and food…to watch the opera on screen while sitting on the concrete slabs…for free…under the stars! Aren’t we fortunate, FrankA, that our cities embrace ART in many forms…….

Oh my … now that sounds like quite the event! … and one that I imagine you have taken in more than once.
Cincinnatians love the lady and the square. Cincinnati has a rich music history, thus one big reason it was the first US city to host the World Choir games … which was a huge success! Here ya go … I think you’ll enjoy this past post. http://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2012/07/25/on-sharing-song-creating-magic-2/

After the event, there was talk of a return … but it was probably due to the exuberance of the event …. The next one is in Riga, Latvia (I think). Oh … here’s another one with two special stories. http://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2012/07/18/on-musical-treats-with-a-story/

The late choir story was so sad … much the city embraced them and they loved it! … and what a journey home! … gotta love the prison choir story as well. Given the classy lady that you are, I knew you would enjoy these.

Raye, I love the abstract water reflections – you’ve got a great eye for color! The steps and stone slabs of the pool remind me of a miniature Fallingwater.

I never thought to compare the two having never seen (only read about) Fallingwater.
The Ira Keller Fountain is one of Portland’s most beautiful public works of ART. A visual surprise at every turn, especially now surrounded by autumn colours. Thank you so much for your comment.

The red maple leaf is my favorite. Wonderful pictures. And since you used an O’Keefe quote, have you ever been to her museum in Santa Fe? Outstanding!!!

Yes, have been to her museum. Simply said, “I could live there…” Her life, her work continues to be an inspiration.
