Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You
For this challenge, we want to keep it simple: share a photograph with a prominent color (or assortment of colors) that reveals more about you. It could be a symbolic, meaningful shade; a color that expresses how you currently feel; or a combination of colors that excites you and tells a visual story.

I know I know…My Reader may think I’m over doing the “bench” thing.

Benches are ever so important. Mostly just to me.

My Reader will just have to get over it.

I’ll be in touch…

  1. Both are extraordinary beautiful pictures. Very graphical and the colours are amazing. My favourite is the first one; I just love that lone red leaf in contrast to the bluish bench.

    1. WOW! she said with a huge smile!! Sometimes I find that the soul of seeing takes over the moment, whether it be with a pen in hand or camera. Thank you so much for that extraordinary comment. Again…travel safe. JOTS

  2. I think these are beautiful shots, Jots. I never really thought much about benches, but now that you’ve mentioned them, there *is* something about benches. A place to sit and reflect, and usually in a very pretty, peaceful place.

  3. Benches are important to me too! These are absolutely terrific, with the emphasis on the leaf in the first shot and the bench an abstraction in the background. This has to be my favourite, but secretly…I love them both. J

  4. The opening shot sparks many thoughts. Because the significance of benches, here are a few quotes for you.

Sometimes you get a glimpse of a semicolon coming, a few lines farther on, and it is like climbing a steep path through woods and seeing a wooden bench just at a bend in the road ahead, a place where you can expect to sit for a moment, catching your breath.(Louis Thomas)

Truly, the bench is a boon to idlers. Whoever first came up with the idea is a genius: free public resting places where you can take time out from the bustle and brouhaha of the city, and simply sit and watch and reflect.(Tom Hodgkinson)

I often lay on that bench looking up into the tree, past the trunk and up into the branches. It was particularly fine at night with the stars above the tree. (Georgia O’Keeffe)

    1. There is something extremely comforting to me, about a bench, that evokes so many memories of times shared with friends. This trip to Seaford with all my lovely lovely friends, meeting James whose camera lens touches my artistic soul…and having everyone all together on one bench, Our Bench, was beyond a place called heaven.

You have made me tear-up, aFrank…that Georgia O’Keeffe quote has sent my emotions over the edge. Thank you…I needed that. And yes, you continue to be A Prince along with El G.

      1. My pleasure. Given what you said, the search for quotes was on … so glad I was able to come through … and thanks for walking with me today through my neighborhood to see the colors.

    1. Ouch! Finally commenting on your comment in the comment section used for making commenting, although in this late case, commented comments furnished by Jots. Thank you for the comment.

So enjoy your own comments in posts written by this very cleaver commenting fellow. Think he goes by J.D.
