  1. It looks like it was easy though, done by a light hand. 🙂 Green is my favourite colour, so many gorgeous shades and you have captured a few of them.
    Have a good week!

    1. I’m so relieved you didn’t “retire” completely from touching upon those tracks we are all travelling down…down being the operative [political] image. Since I fail to comment do not think for a moment that I don’t appreciate your thoughts…nor disagree with same. Thank you, Mr. B. for the kind words re: new (perhaps not improved) image. Change is good. Getting my brushes in a row and ready once more to take-on my watercolour fears with gusto!

      1. I’m looking forward to the new work.

As for me, I’ve found brief, quick comments to be more personally rewarding without taking a big bite out of my day.

        Thanks for the kind words

  3. Love the bottles on the shelf. The background is very interesting against them. I also really like the texture or lines in each bottle and the colors you added.

    1. You and Leslie keep me inspired. BEING GREEN was my twee (very) attempt at “spatter” painting. I kept it small for the fear of trying something new and improved.
HA! Thank you for your kind words as I continue this learning to watercolour journey. Your feedback is so appreciated.

  4. It’s always a pleasure to stumble across excellence! What imaginative and vivid portrayals of simple and familiar comforts! Illustrations for hire, perchance? Am adding this site to my very short list of recommended websites.

  5. Love love love the green bottles and love love love the figs (not eggplants). What gorgeous colours. The figs seem to be having a grand time lazing in the lingering sun of the summer. More paintings to cheer us please!

  6. Lovely to see more figs! I’ve just reduced loads to chutney, not so pretty. Love the green bottles, too. Also, they’re sort of figgish, don’t you think?

    1. Anne, You are the second “friend” who has suggested my bottles looked figgish. Then…there was the comment that the 10 LITTLE FIGS IN A ROW (banner) looked like eggplants! I’m trying very hard to see what you all are seeing….HA!…and think [perhaps] I need to be drinking what you are? Grinning…

  7. Love it … and welcome back. As I do with the work by many artists, I took a closer look at the image to see the details .. Well done! …. and great to have you back!!!! Hope all is well with the Rose City Queen.

    1. Thank you aFA. It’s the pressure and pleasure of hand/eye contact with paint and brushes. Honestly…I have a long way to go before “closer looks” become less fearful. Roses in their last bloom cycle in our beautiful Portland…what a splendid summer we have had! Always nice to hear from you. Sincerely. R.

    1. Fall is coming. Roses in their last bloom cycle and trees are turning. Time to get hunker-down serious about unpacking those last boxes and settling in for our long winter nights! You, Barney and Hugh have kept me on the informed straight and narrow…read with the first-cuppa of the day. Thank you for that. R.

    1. No…hundred and ONE years! If I told you the truth. The whole story, start to finish…you’d leave the country! I’d find you hiding in a cave…can’t have that now, can we? Your posts make me laugh, smile and grin! Thank you for that…and for stopping by and leaving your colourful comment. Much appreciated…

  11. The beautiful greens and all of the colors complement both the mood of this morning ~ a beautiful September day. So great to see this piece of art, wonderful. The right side of this painting seems to capture my eye & the magic of your work 🙂 Enjoy the coming autumn!

    1. R. What a nice comment from you this early morning! Sorry…R…but it is you who have the magic both in words and images. You provide much joy and splendor. Nice. R.

  12. Just paint the rest of the world green and all will be good. Then again if we viewed reality in the same light, we’d be bitch’n and complaining, “ho ho hum”.

Thank you for splashing colour onto a dull, cold, rainy September morning. I really was awoken, from a pitiful gloom. You gotta love art whenever it comes, a reminder to leave the door ajar.

You really do like figs, even yours jars look suspiciously fig-ish.

    1. Yes, HH, figs are mental magic. Childhood memories. Really good splendorific images of past times complete with smells. “…..Splashing colour…” can I keep that? Smiles to you on this, hopefully, brighter day for you! R.

    1. Oh, dear. I thought my figs looked like…figs! On countless second looks…they (the figs) do look like eggplants but wee ones. So…you can call them eggplants. I’ll call them eggplant looking figs. You good with that? Grins all ’round……

      1. Oh dear, i’ve inadvertently traumatized one of my top two artists !! And sounded like the blundering idiot at the gallery opening !

Thanks for your understanding way of correcting me.

I’ve never seen a real live fig !!! That’s my excuse and I’m stickin with it 🙂

PS asking for advance forgiveness since my shortterm memory is shot, I’ll probably tell you in the future how much I like your eggplants. Perhaps you should take it as “a sign” PAINT EGGPLANTS. !!

  14. Darling! It’s been too long. I can only assume you’ve been busy doing important and meaningful things away from your keyboard. I have yet to receive the invitation to your upcoming gallery show. Perhaps it’s lost in the mail.

    1. Oh, Darling…I’ve missed you so, too! Important and meaningful work? Doing yours and mine. It’s early here but I’m ready for that beer you keep promising to buy. Tell Mom that daughter she always wanted is coming home…I’ll save her a stool at the corner pub…
