FISHING FOR WORDS…

PescePESCE

The Reader looks more than dubious that somehow I can connect fishing for words to the watercoloured fish on a platter surrounded with leafy, green things, yellow-ish squiggles and red rounds that may or may not look like small, yet delicious potatoes.

I can’t so I won’t.

No surprise there, The Reader smirks.

Very few words come to mind that make connections between titles and decisions made just because they can be made. This noble attempt, however, didn’t hurt or harm…globally.

In a beautiful, romantic language la pesca di parole Italiane softens the fact that not every supposed good idea in the formulated decision-making process…is really a good idea at all.

The Reader says I’ve made my point.

Ciao.

  1. He’s beautiful! I especially like the way you’ve suggested the scales, and the shine on his body. (And I bet he tasted GOOOD too). All round delicious! 🙂

    1. Thought I’d respond to YOUR post of today “Losing It?”….if you are indeed “losing” it… you have an entire gaggle (like in a herd of noisy geese following you….noisily following you) of followers…following you….noisily! No way you can lose it….we know where you are…just follow those initials: JRCRXOXOGMMX2BFF You have such a painterly eye….XOXOXRRR

      1. Cheers Jots, if your eye can see something in it then there must be something in it. Thanks Jots, one of the best of yje blogosphere (and I know Dale would agree with me on that) JRCRG 🍀😘

  2. The fish on the platter brings two memories to mind.
Decades ago, when I lived alone, I would pull out my sketch pad and draw images of ingredients which I had purchased prior to making a meal, such as whole fish. Sort of Leonardo di Vinci style. Now, being married and cooking together, such delays in meal preparation would not go over well.
While traveling in Italy 2 years ago, at certain restaurants, the waiter would bring a platter of fish over to our table. We would select which fish we wanted, negotiate how to prepare it (hint, do what the waiter suggested) then wait 45 – 60 minutes for the fish to be prepared. Ah, the joy of dinning that emphasizes your companionship rather than fast-services.

  3. I don’t know, of course, way back when. there was Joe explaining art to a dead rabbit. There is good if one looks in much of art.

  4. Oh darling – apparently I’m a day late and a dollar short for the fish special. Just like me! I got carried away in my mucking of stalls and hoarding of dried beans. Who doesn’t like a bite sized potato?

    1. Back at you, My Darling….but keep mucking whilst I send my quick yet brief best thoughts your way. Stop praying for Portland snow and ice we’ve all had just about enough, My Love. Instead…how about you begin to concentrate heavily yet reverently on a homily extolling the benefits of job trading between government workers and movie stars. Just a thought…..XXRR

  5. A closer view provides the wonderful details of your work, although eyes looking at me from a plate on a dinner table isn’t my fav … therefore, much better for a wall. But The Reader smirks more ways than one. 🙂

    1. SMIRKING. Such a good word, don’t you think? Did you find the Green Room comment on the “other” one….you know Frank…that other one that you and Missy D were going on and on and on about? For the life of me can’t remember which one. After a while they all begin to look alike!

          1. Well yes I am! Well, several hours across the border…Boise. And I’m sure your fish dinners are far fresher than my fish dinners. For some reason I had you on the east coast. Like Boston-ish. Don’t ask me why? That would also be a nice location for a fishy dinner.

  6. Italiano… how lucky are we that it exists and gives us an excuse to write and paint and sing and cook about and for nothing and everything.
You know me, nothing you do is nothing to me or is it everything? You read into it what I mean, of that I am sure. Lotsa love, Dxoxoxoxo

    1. Another wish on the list….go back to Sienna and stay for a while. Paint. Eat. Paint. Eat. Paint. Eat. Not necessarily in that order. Yes, Lovely, I always read into everything you write!

      1. Can I come? While you paint, I’ll photograph or write, then we can eat together…and so on and so on… Sienna already feels so far away and it was just 4 months ago!

        1. Was that a trick question: “Can I come?” Nah…didn’t think so. Remember when we “met”…I loved your kitchen videos and wanted to “do” one of them with you. I think we should invite aFa and MrsRightAngle…and cook/video something sinfully scrumptuous….in Sienna! You thinking that, too? NOT a trick question…..
