WHETHER REPORT…

BIRD IN A BOWL                                                                        BIRD IN A BOWL

Funny thing about that weather. Yesterday on the half-past five morning first dog walk of the day the weather was clear-skied, star-studded crisp and thirty-three degrees. Then again, at the morning nine o’clock second dog walk of the day, it was sunny, cloudless and crispy cold at a staggering twenty-four degrees.

My Reader impatiently asks, Where’s the funny part?

I could not tell the difference, I answer.

My Reader sighs. Then tell me about that BIRD IN A BOWL.

Oh…weather or not…I wouldn’t give that a lot of thought. How about I just stay in touch…

Sigh.

  1. I really like your painting. The triangles and rectangles and circles and squares and all of it topped with vibrant color! …except those three black birds soaring. That little bird would do well to stay hidden a while longer.

  2. Good Morning Raye … Trying to do a bit of catch up … Timely on this one because I see where more than a tad of rain is in your area … Then again it is the season, but not that much! Much color in this one .. the two aspects that capture my eyes (for whatever reason) are the sun/birds combo & the diagonal on the wall … and your new gravitar image is delivering British wit by starring me down. 😉 Cheers to the Rose Queen.

  3. you walk your dog at 5:30 in the morning????? And then again at 9:00? Or am I being too literal. Wouldn’t be the first time. Won’t be the last.

Love the painting Raye. The vertical line with the rectangles, circles and patterns make my eyes dance. Love this.

  6. As days grow colder, it becomes the perfect time and temperature to ask questions such as “So, tell me about the bird in the bowl…” The colors and angles of your painting make it possible to enjoy the beauty of life from a different perspective than if on a perfect sunny, summer day. Wishing you well R.

    1. We have gray days as well that seem to last months and months. That’s because they do! Grinning. That’s why you and I, Jensine, live in places where GREEN leafy things grow abundantly. Your last post reminded me I need to wrap and post my prezzies for my London girlfriends! Thanks for that….when we are done…coffee at the corner? Raye

  7. Raye, when you are picking up dog poop, the weather is less relevant, especially when it is as cold as sh*t. Just hurry up dog….. Either that bird is thirsty and drank all the water, can swim while standing or is behind an empty bowl. It is all an illusion to me now. All the best and may your dogs poop and pee quickly. Keith

    1. Still “cold as sh*t” Keith….to quote you in this public forum! Our walks are taking less and less time. This morning Z-Z and I ran home!

    1. Maybe, Anne, your neck of the woods are getting a pre-winter reprieve…? I’m referring to the past two winters you East Coasters have suffered through. Enjoy it while it lasts. Thank you for looking at my “stuff”. You continue to inspire me to keep going….signing up for a watercolour class in January!!! It’s a start. Grinning. Raye

      1. pulling up the rear of the queue is always a treat, and I’ve chuckled more than once thanks to this talented group!

love the bird in the bowl, which makes us smile (again) and that’s all we need – just to keep on smiling.. maybe that’s chiken little, and the bowl is the anti-sky-falling safehouse!

        1. Loved both your comments…the other one on WE RODE HORSES…many smiles here. Speaking of barefoot, I think I can one-up you….our dirt/sand was so hot on some Southern California sunny days we jumped around like fleas on sand…then ran racing for the water-filled irrigation ditches! We were a wild, dirty bunch….! Nice to see you too, Lisa. Hoping all is well. Sista R. PS: I still GAFAW out loud over Hugh’s comment….

  9. OK, I’m confused. Perhaps too cold to press the keys? Actually similar to here. Clear, crisp, and 22 degrees yesterday on the way up the hill to the show, today, just as cold, just as clear, and me? I’m just as cold. My tea doesn’t seem to be doing the job of warming my innards.
